The third SSJ100 has arrived to Zhukovsky

August 12, 2009, Zhukovsky. The third Sukhoi Superjet 100 prototype has arrived to the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) Flight Test Center in Zhukovsky after completion flights and painting in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

This aircraft made its first flight on July 25, 2009 and in two and a half weeks flew from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Zhukovsky in one day with a transit stop at Novosibirsk. The aircraft landed in Novosibirsk at 9.20 local time for refueling and for the crew shift. The captain on the first leg - Nikolay Pushenko - was replaced by Sergey Korostiev, while Andrey Kourov, another test-pilot of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company co-piloted both legs of the flight. After two hours used for a crew break and refueling, the aircraft continued its way to Moscow.

Upon installation of the passenger seats the aircraft SN 95004 will take its place at the static display of MAKS airshow, supplementing the flight display of SSJ100 SN95003. This will allow the airlines representatives to see the aircraft in the configuration similar to the operational one. Together with the interior and passenger seats, the aircraft will also feature the passenger cabin equipment, as well as certification ready avionics suite, including options specified by the current contracts and options catalogue.

“Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” – The shareholders of the Company are the “Sukhoi Holding Company” owing 75% — 1 share and the Italian Alenia Aeronautica holding 25% + 1 share since April 7, 2009. “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” was founded in 2000 to develop new regional aircraft projects. Headquartered in Moscow, the Company possesses several production branches seated in the cities of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novosibirsk and Voronezh. Today the company employs over 2,000 persons.

The Company's major project is the development program of Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jets family. The first SSJ100 was rolled out from SCAC’s final assembly shop at Komsomolsk-on-Amur on September 26, 2007. First flight was successfully accomplished on May 19, 2008 there. On October 24, 2008, after successful completion of factory flight tests, the aircraft emerged into certification flight campaign. The second prototype performed its maiden flight on December 24, 2008. Currently, the solid order portfolio for the new regional jet reaches 122 aircraft.
